Research and Sponsored Projects

The Office of Research and Sponsored Projects (ORSP) works to provide support for faculty research, instruction and service activities at Portland State University by promoting and facilitating the acquisition of funds from private and governmental organizations. Our staff assists researchers in all stages of grant development and submission, from identifying funding opportunities and developing budget and cost proposals, to assuring compliance on human subjects and animal care issues, to negotiating workable terms on grants and contracts. We provide free access to funding databases, such as Community of Science, for PSU faculty and staff, administer the funding of Research Groups, arrange grant-writing workshops and offer assistance and advice to researchers attempting to navigate the often-confusing world of proposal submission.

New Research Administration Website!

Research Administration Website

A new website has been created to combine information regarding pre-award and post-award functions of Portland State University's Research and Sponsored Projects and Research Accounting offices. All of the information once found on ORSP's website regarding technology transfer, compliance, research policies, and internal funding has been relocated to this new website. Additionally, information regarding project setup, project monitoring and closeout can be found there, as well as answers to many frequently asked questions.
